A cool new idea from British scientists: the magnetic fridge »
Posted by: Ousama 1 year, 8 months agoDo you like fridge magnets? A new technology being developed by British scientists could put an even bigger one inside your refrigerator. Once Karl Sandeman, a physicist at Cambridge University, has helped resolve the practical issues, the cooling power of the 21st century fridge will come from a 19th century discovery - and it promises to cut ener

Dec. 14, 2006, 9:49 p.m.its an amazing technology and I wonder how much it would cost to get in our homes, and hopefully the appliance mafia wont kill this technology like many other stuff.

Dec. 15, 2006, 8:04 a.m.It is a long journey between the lab and assembly line. I hope that a really practical cooling system comes out of this. The elimination of the IR drop from a starting compressor motor (as DavidHalko pointed out)would allow many alternate electric sources for homes.
