In a way, though not directly related, this makes me think of the debate over embryonic stem cells. People against this, many of them religious conservatives, say they are destroying lives. Hey, you know, they can either be used in research or thrown out ... because that's what was / is going to happen to the stem cells they want to use for research. Thrown out. Why isn't there a law against this, hmm, if you want to be precise?

Rather than just seeing them hit the trash bin, how about using them?
