Science – Earthquakes Under Pacific Floor Reveal Unexpected Circulatory System (January 15, 2008) -- Seismologists working under 2,500 meters of water on a mid-ocean ridge in the eastern Pacific Ocean have used tiny earthquakes to make the first images of the interior of a hydrothermal vent system, and it does not look at all the way many had assumed it woul
I know this may sound crazy but at times I have often wondered whether or not the earth itself is a living creature?
Now before I get all the kool-aid and tin foil hat comments please let me explain.
We humans as a living creature have millions of other "lower-form" creatures that dwell in and on us, correct?
From dust mites to bacteria down to some viruses that are even hard to detect with even an electron microscope.
With all the different variety of life forms that we have discovered on this planet I don't think we can conclude beyond a shadow of a doubt exactly, to the tee, what constitutes a life form.
Question, why does the ocean contain the same salinity (or salt content) as human blood?
cont.
Whose to say we're simply not just parasites ourselves, along with all the other varied "life forms" that we are aware of, living on one giant host?
What if the "vent system" referred to in this story is some sort of giant circulatory system?
With the way everything works in cycles with what we refer to as "mother nature", what if it is nothing more than a giant "self-regulating" life force at work.
We all know the earth heats up and cools down but so do we.
We all know that staying clean is healthy and good so maybe that's what rain is. Earth's way of cleansing itself.
You might ask, well why don't it have eyes and ears? Well neither does an amoeba.
cont.
You might ask, well what does it consume to survive? Why not the parasites that dwell upon it such as dead trees and animals. Humans even consume parasites that dwell on us just not solely.
You never know, fossil fuel might just be some sort of "stored" source of food/energy and here we are, this pesky parasite that we are, stealing it and using it for ourselves?
I'm not saying anything I've stated here is fact or for that matter whether or not I believe it to be true, I just think it makes for some really open-minded thinking as to the way we perceive life and life forms in general.
Anyway, this was a great article Klarrisa.

Cool stuff Klarissa! Thanks. Have you read anything about this? http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/01/04/asia/...
Yes, I'm on a volcano notification email list.
There have been many quakes along the San Andreas fault also. Small, which is supposed to be good news.
Thanks for the reference.
