Catastrophic effect? Lack of water? Tell you what skippy, why don't you move to Wisconsin. The snow gods have more than made up for "global" warming and and drought. This reminds me of the stories from So California. Oh, they're running out of water.... Well from the reports I've been seeing it seems they not have too much. Rather than drinking the Kook-aid, let's face the simple fact that weather comes and goes in cycles. A time for sun, a time for rain, a time for heat and a time for cold. God, it sounds like a Beatles song but I think you understand what I'm trying to say.

The drumbeat goes on ... day after day. We're causing this; we're causing that.
So ... your wife is a hydro-geologist in Nebraska.
What is happening in NB that is going to make it unfit for your grandchildren?

Help me out here. 2 article on the same day here in Propeller, both blame "man made global warming" caused this. One says
US drought 'man-made' says study
The water shortages gripping the western US are the result of global warming, not natural variations in climate,
And the other is claiming just the opposite. floods from swollen rivers, control increasing runoff from urban storms
Water managers told: Plan now for crisis
California and Bay Area cities must start planning now for new and costly systems to control increasing runoff from urban storms, springtime floods from swollen rivers and rising sea levels as they invade lowlands, all as a result of global warming, climate scientists and water experts warn.
So CAN Drought and Floods at occur at the SAME TIME and IN the SAME place?

Well that point is invalid due to the fact that I live in NYC up in the Northeast, and we aren't suffering any drought. But I feel bad for the populace there that are going through that hardship.

Is it climate change as in the earth always has climate change or is it man made climate change or is it global warming or man made global warming or the greenhouse effect or the man made greenhouse effect or is it CFC or CO2. Is CO2 pollution or a natural and essential element of life on earth. Get real people.

The BS never stops ... now the government has bought in on GW so it doesn't make much difference any more. They actually bought some offsets with our tax money to cover their congressional carbon footprint b*ll sh*t!
I think I heard Bill Clinton say yesterday "maybe we should slow down our economy to save the planet for our grandchildren".
We are now fat, lazy, chronic cry babies about everything in our country. It turns my stomach.

Your right we should go back to a time when people dumped raw sewage into the rivers and burned their trash. The earth is worse now more than ever. (compared to what I am not sure)Do you even have a clue of history. Cold Kills more than warm. Ask yourself this. What is the perfect global average temperature and why?

What is the perfect average global temperature...
It really depends on who or what you ask that question to. If you ask that question to the Earth, you would probably get a response of "I don't really care, I'm a big ball of rock and I'll be here a really long time regardless of my temperature or if I still support life." If you ask the question to extremophile bacteria you would get an answer of "extremely cold" to "please make all water boiling!" If you ask that question to a human living in Svalbard, then you may get an answer of "warmer than this". The opposite would probably be true if you ask someone living in the Sahara. The truth is the question seems to be a bit loaded and the answer is by definition subjective.

As I said, Iam, the government has, in their infinite wisdom, bought in on GW, so it doesn't matter anymore. They will now save us from ourselves and blow more money. They have been given the mandate to charge us extra for living.
Don't bother to think for yourself. Don't examine the real facts of anything. Just assume a drought in the southeast is some new phenomenon brought on by us ugly humans.
Don't look at the weather ... look at the climate.
Yes, it's freezing all over the country, but you can't depend on that.
So ... what's wrong with your environment where you live? Are you too hot or too dry or too wet or maybe even too cold? Did you cause it? Who did? All of us ... right?

"so it doesn't matter anymore." then why do you comment?
"Don't bother to think for yourself." Actually, I do.
"Don't examine the real facts of anything." Actually, I have.
"Just assume a drought in the southeast is some new phenomenon brought on by us ugly humans." Possibly, I like to hear what the experts think.
"Yes, it's freezing all over the country, but you can't depend on that. " Obviously you didn't take your own advice and examine the facts.
"what's wrong with your environment where you live?" Pollution of our air, ground, and water. Warmer average temps. Invasive species. Loss of wetlands. Etc etc...
"Are you too hot or too dry or too wet or maybe even too cold? Did you cause it? Who did? All of us" Thanks for asking! I'm actually quite warm and dry right now and its my choosing, so I'm not blaming anyone...

"Another load of C___. How about all the cycles of western drought when the Indians were running things?"
No No No! you can't use historical data to make your point!
Didn't you get the memo?
You have to pick an arbitrary start point, say last year, and then state "this is the wettest coldest driest hottest in history!
Were aLL GONA DIEEEEEEEE!

"Sounds like you "injest"ed a load of crap from your bend over buddy 5 times divorced oxy-cotton addicted guru who tells you what to think, Gush Lambaugh, or is it the mormon convert Glen Beck, or even Paul senile Harvy, not to mention, the ultimate freakshow, O'Riely"
WOW that's some imagination ya got there. But not bright enough to pick up the
"arbitrary start point" Point
Like the George Soros report that listed the 915 starting AFTER 9/11/2001 times Bush said Iraq has WMD's yet ignoring the THOUSANDS of statements from EVERY Pol / news paper / news agency in the USA 1994 to present. And don't forget the UN. Stating with NO wiggle room that Iraq HAD WMD's.
"You have to pick an arbitrary start point, say last year, and then state "this is the wettest coldest driest hottest in history!
Were aLL GONA DIEEEEEEEE!"
Imitation is the sincerest form of flatulence

Here it is! Oops it was B17 not a B24
World War II Planes Found in Greenland In Ice 260 Feet Deep
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=...
LEAD: Six American fighter planes and two bombers that crash-landed in Greenland in World War II have been found 46 years later buried under 260 feet of ice, searchers said today.
"and the planes low on fuel and unable to find their destination, returned to Greenland, where they belly-landed on the ice about 10 miles inland"
"All 25 crew members were rescued"
Lets see, they landed ON the ICE, and 46 years later the Birds were COVERED in 260 FEET of ICE.
What are the possibilities? Hummm?
I know they built a 26-story box around the Birds and filled it with water and let it freezes,ya that's it!
Then to everyone's amazement they stumble across this 26- story ICE CUBE!
Or is this just another one of those pesky anomalies, in a long line of anomalies.

Hydrologist must need funding !
Federal and State Water Tax , see it coming , watch for it , the Alarmist will cherish it !
Some years back California went through a 4 year drought , that must have been when Gullible Warning started .

As I travel throughout the West numerous golf courses in desert environments, fountains and wasteful water use is the norm so even with the historical record of droughts you would think those humans wasting it deserve no sympathy.
Tree rings show that droughts are normal for the west and while being an advocate that climate change is here and now, human change will not occur, so who do you then blame?
Myself I live near no pollution or human population so the problem is not my problem. You pick your environment, well until you shed your crap on me.
