Interesting article, I think its mostly a nice fantasy story but the creatures they have imagined are quite extraordinary.
I think that life is out there in forms other than bacteria, just most likely not in our solar system, but if they do exist in our solar system Europa would be the ideal body for them to exist.

I would like to believe that civilizations have risen and fallen, long before our sun was born. This process is concurrent, and will continue long after we're gone. Our's is but a moment in time.
Europa gets my vote as well. Maybe a couple of moons of Jupiter.
