    just to clarify, those 17000 scientists (19000 actually) all signed a petition started by the oism. to qualify as a "scientist" for the sake of this petition all that's needed is a bs..... bachelor of science that is. and it doesn't even need to be related. it may as well be bullsh*t. here's what the oism has to say from a link from your link.

        hey bill, when you get past your comprehension issues you'll see that the keyword in my point is SCIENTIST. here, i'll say it again just in case you missed it -- SCIENTIST. am i going too fast for ya?
        according to the oism all you need is a BS to call yourself a SCIENTIST in ANY discipline so you can sign their petition. a lot of people hold BS degrees and move into careers that have little to nothing to do with science, like teaching, sales, construction, clerical, the service sector, drug dealing, even housewives...... anything and everything basically. are they SCIENTISTS? the oism seems to think so. so does chuckles who's going on about how thousands of SCIENTISTS call global warming crap. i think his point and this petition is crap. i think yours is too

        and as for checking out if anyone who signs the petition claiming to hold a BS does in fact hold a BS, well, it's just not going to happen, is it? so in effect all anyone has to do is SAY they hold a BS without necessarily having one, sign the petition, and voila! they're a SCIENTIST!! (according to the oism), which makes the whole petition, the oism and chuckles' 17000 to 19000 SCIENTISTS..... complete bs. :|

Eventually the "Global Warming" myth will prove to be one of the greatest hoaxes of all time.
It's like a liberal version of fundamentalist religion in it's purest form, without nary a shred of truth...

      Biofuel is a bad idea.
      It doesn't work out to be mathematically viable as a combustion energy source.
      Besides, we need food to eat.
      There is also the built in strife factor: when there is only enough "food" for food for the poor to eat, or for the wealthy to have fuel to drive etc, who gets the food?
      "Let them eat biofuel?"

This article should be under HUMOR, not science.
The article's criticism of the "black Balloons" video is hilarious. The video shows balloons emerging from ELECTRICAL appliances and clearly states that the balloons REPRESENT the CO2 produced as a RESULT or using the appliance. The video does not claim as the article suggests, that the balloons actually contain CO2, nor does the video make the absurd statement that the electrical appliance itself emits CO2.
The article then goes on to suggest that the HUGE numbers of extensive studies of the Greenland ice shelf showing a marked warming since 1979 are bogus.

  from the neocons to the deniers, the best they've got to cling to is a stickling pettiness by deliberately choosing to misconstrue an obvious and quite unmistakeably intentional metaphor (eg. black balloons) and actually have the audacity and utter stupidity to posit a ludicrous and illogical argument by debating it from a literal interpretation based on nothing more than cockeyed assumptions that exist only their in delusions. and then they expect to be taken seriously!! in short, morons who, if there's a brain cell to share between them it is used to muddy the water only because they don't want to have to change the way they live. that's it in a nutshell. meantime the owner of this nonsense and the writer of this spoof has no credentials and no credibility. he's just a hack who just wants to cloud the issue with smoke and mirrors
