"The Genographic Project's findings are also consistent with the idea - held for some years now - that modern humans had a close brush with extinction in the evolutionary past.
The number of early humans may have shrunk as low as 2,000 before numbers began to expand again in the Late Stone Age."

  Human fertilization results after a race of hundreds of millions of sperm cells, each one carrying it's own distinct combo of genes. Seems chance is built into the system of life no matter how you look at it, natural or magical causes.
  As for the first cell, we don't know the exact orgins of that first cell on Earth, but since when did not knowing an answer become any reason to insert magic as the cause?

      That is an antiscientific statement, science is about filling what we don't know with knowledge, not with explanations that ultimately don't tell us anything, even if all we can see was created by a higher being, a scientific aproach would be to find out what means were used, saying that some else did it is NOT an answer.

Why do they keep using a picture of a gorilla skull for all these types of stories? Very misleading.
