The honeybee is not even native to North or South America. And the beekeepers of South and Central America, have learned to work the Africanized honeybee. We human's are good at adapting.
And you do know beekeepers work bees with a bee smoker and have been for 100's of years. We always used old burlap. Not much of that around anymore. And all that smoker pollution right into the beehives hasn't killed them yet.
