Chill Out on Global Warming »
Posted by: bobo-in-texas 3 months, 2 weeks agoAl Gore's cinematic sermons on inconvenient truths to the contrary notwithstanding, it is becoming clearer by the day that major cracks are appearing in the supposed consensus among scientists that global warming caused by carbon emissions is an urgent problem that government must address with drastic measures.

"Also, the Canadian Ice Service reports the Arctic ice pack is 10 to 20 centimeters thicker in many places this year than it was in 2007."
That makes two poles expanding. Hmmm ... the "believers" are going to have a very hard time with all this.

Sorry. The Examiner is a right-wing newspaper in Portland that acts as a front to push pretty much every Republican lie that comes forth.
Anthropogenic Global warming is a scientific fact supported by 99% of the scientific community. 100% if you don't count the shills for the oil companies.

There are right wing papers in Oregon?? LMAO!!!!!
I see fools only can trot out the "right wing shill" line when faced with contrary facts.

The story is from the Washington DC Examiner. Interesting to see you think 99 percent of scientists say anthropogenic global warming is a fact. As you so often say: Where's your proof?
There's a list of about 20,000 scientists petitioning the US gov't to say Global Warming ISN'T a fact. Some 60 Candian Scientists petitioned the Canadian gov't to reconsider Kyoto.
Oregon Examiner ... LMAO!!!!!

INACCURATE REPORTING ALERT
Item 2: FALSE REPORTING. Both Hadley and Goddard list 2007 as a tie for the second warmest year of the century
Item 5: FALSE REPORTING. The Nature article, titled "Advancing decadal-scale climate prediction in the North Atlantic sector" is about the NORTH ATLANTINC, not global warming.
Item 1 is, as stated in the article of unknown significance.
Item 3 is, as stated, about the U.S. (affected heavily by la Nina) not Global.
Item 4 I didn't check (when 2 out of five statements in the article are WRONG, why bother).

FTA-New data produced by more than 3,000 sophisticated ocean buoys scattered across the world's oceans indicate average water temperatures have been decreasing since 2003, not increasing as would be the case in Gore's globally warming world.
Maybe Al didn't see this article?

Maybe you didn't read it? Surface temperature of the ocean isn't much of a measure.

"Maybe you didn't read it? Surface temperature of the ocean isn't much of a measure."
So what were the 3,000 sophisticated ocean buoys scattered across the world's oceans measuring when the data SUPPORTED global warming?
Restate, if the 3,000 sophisticated ocean buoys give data that says the globe is warming cause the oceans are warming, then the data good and valid.
If the 3,000 sophisticated ocean buoys give data that says the globe is cooling cause the oceans are cooling, then the data bogus and invalid?

I'm just guessing, but it seems to me that water has to get COLDER in order for ice to form. If the water USED to be warmer -- wouldn't it necessarily have had less ice not more? If the ice is melting, shouldn't that mean that the water it's floating in is warmer than it used to be, not colder?
Cold air doesn't freeze water, nor does it melt it -- other than by heat transfer. The water itself has to reach the freezing/melting point, regardless of what the air is doing. That's why ice rinks don't have to be cooled to 32 degrees or cooler, they work just fine around 55 -- 60 degrees at the level and warmer in the stands.

I was always taught to look at things with an open mind. The thing that the "climate change" proponents do not do , at least from all I've seen, is look at new data with an open mind. They are convinced it's true and that's it. There is no definitive data to prove it without a doubt, so why always reject new data as automatically wrong?

Actually they were expecting you, notice "climate change" NOT Warming or Cooling, in fact they can't be wrong no matter what any study says.
Oceans warmer climate change
Oceans cooler climate change
Oceans temp unchanged? OMG El Nino La Nina anomalies no longer happing its your fault!

Well if all would realize that Jesus is coming back one day, and he has get this earth ready for his return. There is not any thing we can do to stop it. All we need to do is get our heart right with God and be ready for the return of his son, Jesus!!!! I am not saying when his return will be, it might be another 1000 years, who knows, but there will be changes to this earth, in preperation for his return.

Let's see: Examiner "Article History":
18 hours ago - Chill out on global warming
5 days ago - Telling the truth on polar bears, global warming
9 days ago - U.S. needs oil drilling, not higher energy taxes
A pattern? All's I need now is to see a Big Oil ad somewhere.
It's hard to get people to change their minds if their present way of life depends on them not believing it - paraphrased from "An Inconvenient Truth"

Global warming is very real or we'd still be in an ice age! It started about 18,000 years ago when the ice began to recede.

This whole carbon credit thing drives me crazy, up here there are farmers paying up to 40 thousand dollars to put a contraption on cultivators that puts the exhaust of the tractor into the ground, then they are supposed to be paid by the government for trapping the carbon in the soil, and yet if you work any plant matter (which is carbon) back into the soil you can't get paid. We've got way to many government people trying to decide what is best for us and they don't have a clue, and the saddest part is they have the power to enact laws that at times are counterproductive.
